Adams Idea hybrid review
Golf Monthly Senior Staff Writer Paul O'Hagan reviews the Adams Idea hybrid in his equipment review
GM verdict:Adams already had a brilliant hybrid line-up, but the new Idea ticks off the ultra-forgiving market with a hybrid that is super easy to hit. If you really struggle with both your irons and your fairway woods you could replace them right through to 7-iron. The flight is very high, but carry distances are similar to the equivalent iron or wood, and provide impressive stopping power when hitting into greens. The head shape and weighting will suit players with slower-than-average swing speeds. But... although the Cut-Thru slot and larger head make it easy to hit, the Idea hybrid doesn't look as appealing as the XTD range.PGA pro verdict:I wouldn't be averse to a bag full of these! The head design helps to inspire plenty of confidence at address, and the Idea proved very effective on test. It was extremely forgiving, easy to control and was particularly easy to strike from poor lies. The ball speed was very fast off the face, making yardage gains significant. I used it on holes that would normally be out of reach for standard long irons, and the Idea swallowed up the extra yardage with ease. A first-class product.Test Team Rating:Performance: 4/5Visual appeal: 3.5/5Innovation: 4/5Value: 4/5Overall: 4/5

Key technology:
Designed to be Adams' easiest to hit hybrid ever. The Idea features the brand's new Cut-Thru Slot, which runs all the way through the club behind the face. This should increase ball speed as well as adding extra distance on off-centre shots. The head incorporates an upside-down design that positions the centre of gravity lower in the head, making the club easier to hit. Five different loft options are available, offering a smooth transition into the new Adams Idea irons.
Will suit: players who struggle with mid and long irons.
