Hill Billy electric trolley review

Manufacturer:

Price as reviewed:

£259.00

This updated version of the Hill Billy electric trolley features a Plug N’ Play battery design that removes the need for wiring, simply slotting into place in a matter of seconds. We tested the trolley with a lithium battery (£359) that charges quicker and lasts a few years longer, but there’s also a lead acid option at £259.

The Hill Billy electric trolley has a soft touch handle that is adjustable to five heights, while the three-way folding system makes it very easy to put up and put down, as you can see in our video review above. Low-profile wheels are quick to release and attach, and run smoothly on the fairway, with the build quality also offering another plus at this reasonable price point.

While other trolleys feature more added extras and fold down smaller, the Hill Billy electric trolley does a great job of getting your clubs around the course without any fuss or trouble, which is what many first time trolley users are after. Yes, more expensive Motocaddy and PowaKaddy models will offer you some added extras, but there will be plenty of golfers out there who aren’t looking for any fuss to distract them from hitting their shots on the course.

We also tested the matching Hill Billy Lite cart bag (£79) which offers six pockets,  a 14-way divider and a putter well, and fits perfectly with the base so that you bag doesn’t twist in an annoying fashion.

All-in-all this is a great value trolley that is perfect for push trolley users or carry bag users who want to take the plunge and invest in an easy-to-use electric model.

Verdict

While it is clear to see what extra money gets you on other electric trolley designs, the Hill Billy offers plenty of value to make it well worth considering. The modern and lightweight frame is very easy to set-up and use, with minimal extras to distract you on the course.
