The Open Championship 2023 Dates: 20-23 July
Venue: Royal Liverpool Golf Club

The 151st playing of The Open Championship will be played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club otherwise known as Hoylake. It is the first time since Rory McIlroy’s memorable victory in 2014 that The Open has returned to the course. This will be the 13th time the Championship will be played here.

But this year will look rather different thanks to more than a dozen changes. The two most notable are the creation of a new, stunning par-3 17th (which replaced a par 4) and No. 10 now playing as a par 4 in excess of 500 yards, versus a 532-yard par 5.

Cameron Smith is the defending champion after chasing down McIlroy at the 150th Open Championship hosted at St Andrews' Old Course. Smith birdied the final hole to shoot an eight-under 64 on the final day to pip playing partner Cameron Young by one-stroke. McIlroy shot two-under to finish two back.
