A guide to the fifteenth hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship

Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 15

Hole 15 – Par 4 – 499 yards

The 15th is called ‘Crosbie’ which was a fortification near Alton and the long-time home of the Fullarton family.

At 499-yards and in to the prevailing wind, a par-4 at the 15th hole will pick up half a shot on the rest of the field.

Two fairway bunkers down the right must be avoided and the long hitters will need to stay right of the left-hand bunker at 307-yards off the tee.

The long second shot is hit into quite a large green which only has one bunker short-left.

Find the putting surface in regulation, get down in two and run to the 16th.
