A guide to the eighteenth hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship

Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 18

Hole 18 – Par 4 – 458 yards

The finishing hole is named ‘Craigend’ which is an old farm which Troon now sits on.

The key to the tee shot is to avoid the three bunkers down the left by playing your drive towards the one down the right at 312 yards which shouldn’t be reachable into wind.

From there it’s about avoiding the five pot bunkers surrounding the 39 yard-long green which sits right in front of the clubhouse.

Don’t be long here otherwise you’ll be O.O.B.

A truly testing final hole.
