Talented trio hope to czech out at Austerlitz

Chris Paisley, 22, from Northumberland, a member of the England Elite Squad, is studying at the University of Tennessee and has claimed success at individual and team level over there.

In the UK last year he finished high in the English Amateur and South of England Stroke Play, while so far this summer he has reached the last 32 of the Amateur Championship before losing to England international Chris Wood and finished runner-up in the Tillman Trophy.

James Robinson, 19, was a semi-finalist in last year’s English Amateur at Royal St George’s. This year he has met with considerable success, winning the Formby Hare and the Pines Trophy while finishing runner-up in the Southport & Ainsdale Bowl and the Scottish Youths Open Championship.

The England Under-21 Squad member has also been fourth in the Bernard Darwin Salver and fifth in the Lancashire Championship.

Adam Wainwright, 22, is also enjoying a fine 2008 after being named in the England ‘A’ Squad. Having been top scorer for England in the Costa Ballena Tournament in Spain in January, he finished runner-up in the individual rankings in the Midland Qualifying and third in the Selborne Salver, Hampshire Hog and the Hampshire Salver.

In 2007, the Gainsborough player reached the last 16 of the English Amateur, was third in the Lagonda Trophy and fourth in the Selborne Salver.

The Czech Amateur is a 72-hole stroke play event with a halfway cut to the leading 70 players and ties with a further cut after the third round to the leading 40 players and ties.

There will also be a Nations Cup decided over the opening two rounds with the best two scores from three to count.

EGU trio: Chris Paisley (Stocksfield), James Robinson (Southport & Ainsdale), and Adam Wainwright (Gainsborough).
