Club Car wins prestigious new national account

Club Car, recognised industry leaders in golf & utility vehicle efficiency, design and performance has won a new National Account contract to become the exclusive supplier of golf & utility vehicles to future Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor.

Celtic Manor is the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup where play will take place on the wittingly named Twenty Ten Course. Club Car has been the preferred supplier for the past 6 Ryder Cup Matches and will do the same when the event reaches Celtic Manor.

Russell Phillips, Vice President of Facilities and Development of Celtic Manor, was key in bringing Club Car on board. He is keen to ensure that they work with the best companies in the business, and is delighted with the new partnership with Club Car. Although the quality of the product was an important consideration, the high standard of Club Car’s after sales service was equally important in making their final decision as Russell explains, “We pride ourselves on working with the very best suppliers, and firmly believe that Club Car provides the premium product in the golf car market. The partnership with Club Car is just one example of our ongoing commitment to providing members and guests with the very best possible golf experience.”

Celtic Manor has taken on 135 Precedent golf cars and 6 Utility vehicles, bringing the fleet total at Celtic Manor to 192 Club Cars. The bonnets of the new Precedent golf cars have all been customised with the club’s name. The Precedent offers best-in-class reliability, efficiency and performance, and is engineered with innovative technologies and conveniences. The model has received widespread praise throughout the industry, as well as being used by both team captains at the 2006 Ryder Cup and will be used again this year at the 2008 Ryder Cup in Valhalla.

Kevin Hart, National Account Manager, sees this as just the beginning, “Club Car is delighted and honoured to be associated with Celtic Manor. We look forward to supporting the Club in the lead up to the Ryder Cup and long into the future.”

Local support for the agreement will be provided by one of Club Car’s distributors, Tractor Hire and Chris Hopkins explained, “We are pleased to be working with Celtic Manor and to support Club Car. We have installed all the vehicles and will continue to offer full after-sales support for any service or parts required for the length of the agreement.”
