The finishing touches are being put to Ireland’s new golf masterpiece as the Nick Faldo Championship Course at Lough Erne Resort near Enniskillen prepares to open on July 1st 2009.

Set on a breathtaking peninsula between Lower Lough Erne and Castle Hume Lough in the rolling countryside of Fermanagh, the inspirational creation by six times major champion Faldo is already being talked about as an obvious venue for future prestige European Tour events.

More immediately the new championship course is already on the must-play list for golfing tourists from all over the world and is destined to become a clear favourite with corporate golfers with green fees starting from just £80 and customers receiving special attention in order to make their stay even more memorable.

While The Faldo Championship course is the jewel in the crown, Lough Erne Resort also offers the original Castle Hume Championship course for visitors to enjoy plus the full range of facilities at its 120 bedroom Resort, noted for its warm country house atmosphere and range of fully serviced lakeside lodges in its grounds.

Nick Faldo has made an immensely successful transition from champion golfer to internationally acclaimed golf course designer and first saw the Fermanagh landscape on which he was to build his dream course in 2006 with his design team.
