Princes Golf Club

The 435-yard 9th hole on the Himalayas at Princes Golf Club

Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management, development has announced Princes Golf Club as the newest member of its portfolio of courses.

Located on the south coast of England, Princes Golf Club has a long history and is one of the most recognized names on the golf course circuit in Europe.

The established links course hosted the Open Championship in 1932 and ever since has continued to welcome some of Europe’s leading golf event, with the newly lengthened Championship course scheduled to host Open Qualifying in 2011.

Following the devastation of the course during World War II, Sir Guy Campbell and John Morrison were commissioned to restore Princes Golf Club. Seventeen of the original greens were saved and a new 27-hole facility was created.

Featuring three loops of nine; The Shore, Dunes and Himalayas, the course is as classic a links course as you will find. Naturally sculpted from the Kent links land, deep bunkers, undulating fairways and tricky greens all combine to make Princes one of the most complete and true tests of golf anywhere in the world.

Bruce Glasco, Troon Golf’s managing director said: "We are thrilled to be working with such an established name in golf and look forward to forging strong partnerships with the team there."
