SkyCaddie agree three-year deal with the PGA

SkyCaddie has agreed a new three-year contract with the PGA that will see the rangefinder producers sponsor the Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship and support numerous regional events.

The extended agreement enhances the relationship between the PGA and SkyCaddie, who together pioneered the use of rangefinders on tour in 2007.

The 2007 breakthrough led to the PGA becoming golf's first governing body to legalise distance measuring devices.

Sandy Jones, the PGA's chief executive, said: "SkyCaddie enjoys a good relationship both with the PGA and many of its members, and this is reflected in their wide-ranging support over the next three years."

SkyCaddie managing director UK, Jackie Hithcock, commented: "The PGA has been very supportive and professional and we are very pleased to be offered the opportunity to partner with them again in 2010."

Hitchcock added: "Every year we work with the PGA we seem to elevate the credibility of our product and brand in Europe - 2010 will be a very exciting year as we launch a new product with new platforms that will assist PGA pro's in their teaching and coaching."

The new contract also coincides with the latest product from SkyCaddie - the SGX, which earned rave reviews at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January.

"These are very exciting times for us as the SGX is a genuine breakthrough product for the category - and SkyCaddie's first major product launch for two years," explained Hitchcock.
