Jim Furyk

Nationality: American
Date of birth: May 12 1970
Place of birth: West Chester, Pennsylvania
Turned pro: 1992
Last five Masters finishes: T22nd ('06), T28th ('05), DNP ('04), 4th ('03), MC ('02)

The current world number two is renowned for his consistency but didn't quite make our "Favourites" category because of his fairly average Masters record and the fact he hasn't quite recaptured his form of 2006.

An extremely straight hitter off the tee and on his approaches to the green, Furyk will always be in with a chance at Augusta – although some say his relative lack of length off the tee (he ranks 170th on the PGA Tour for driving distance) will make very low scoring difficult.

The man from Pennsylvania is certainly an excellent each-way bet and will be looking to build on his result from 2003 when he finished fourth behind Mike Weir, Len Mattiace and Phil Mickelson.
