José Maria Olazábal

Nationality: Spanish
Date of birth: February 5 1966
Place of birth: Fuenterrabia
Turned pro: 1985
Last five Masters finishes: T3rd ('06), MC ('05), 30th ('04), T8th ('03), 4th ('02)

With two Green Jackets (1994 and '99) to his name can you ever discount José Maria Olazábal. Now in his 40s, the Spaniard is arguably past his best but a tied-third finish last year at Augusta shows he still has what it takes to in the Masters.

Still ranked in the world's top 30 Ollie has experience on his side and a short game to die for – exactly what is required on the slick Augusta greens. Although his general form has been mixed in 2007, his putting has improved on last year – another good sign for Augusta. The Spaniard currently sits 18th in the putts per GIR stats on the US Tour.

The only disadvantage Olazabal has around Augusta is his length off the tee. With the Gerogia course playing longer than ever, his average of 274 yards may take him out of the equation. Can Ollie make it three this year? We think he has a chance.
