Two teams from Renault Retail Group showed their support for the Lady Taverners by taking part in the charity’s recent golf day.

Eight members of the team from Renault Retail dealerships throughout the UK took part in the annual event held at Patshull Park Golf Club in Shropshire, organised by former England Ladies’ Cricket Captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint OBE. Rachael is President of the Lady Taverners, the fundraising arm of The Lord's Taverners, which provides support for young people with special needs to help them enjoy sporting and leisure activities as well as providing specially adapted minibuses.

The day began with breakfast and refreshments before teams of four players headed for the first tee to start the Stableford competition on the 18-hole championship course.

Two Renault teams took part in the event comprising of Managing Director Ian Plummer, Deputy Managing Director Stuart Walker, Midlands Regional General Manager Boyd Dennell, General Manager at Renault Liverpool and Renault Wirral Barry Jones, Regional General Manager of North West England Jim Schofield, Regional General Manager for South Wales Chris Williams, General Manager at Autoworld Chris Norman and General Manager at Renault Romford Jason Sayers.

Throughout the day Renault’s new 4x4 crossover the Koleos was on display and all players, including former Wolves football players Don Goodman and Robbie Dennison, each received some Renault branded goods as a souvenir of the day.

The day ended with a three-course dinner and prize ceremony for the winners which turned out to be one of the Renault teams who took victory with a score of 90, just one point ahead of the second place team.  A total of around £5,000 was raised for the charity which is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year.

Ian Plummer, Managing Director of Renault Retail Group, said: “Renault Retail Group is always keen to support good causes such as the Lady Taverners which makes a real difference to the lives of many children with special needs and I know this day has been a great success for them.”
