Left-handed golfers in line for Southpaw Open

The Rotary Club of Bournemouth North are inviting all left-handed golfers to take part in the second Southpaw Open Golf Day in June at Canford Magna Golf Club in Dorset

The Rotary Club of Bournemouth North are inviting all left-handed golfers to take part in the second Southpaw Open Golf Day in June.

The charity tournament is supporting the Bournemouth “Winton Stroke Club” which is part of the Winton Salvation Army community centre named “The Place Next Door”.

Canford Magna Golf Club in Dorset will host the tournament - a 6496-yard, 18 hole parkland course.

Stanley Webb, President Elect of The Rotary Club, quoted that the 2008 Tournament was a huge success with competitors taking part from local golf clubs, also travelling from Wareham ,Weymouth, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Taunton, Portsmouth, Fareham and Winchester.

Entry Fee is £45 per person or £160 a team of four, which includes coffee and a bacon bap on arrival, 18 holes of golf, followed by a rolling evening meal with presentation of prizes, and a raffle draw.

Prizes are awarded for individual Stableford scores for men and ladies, and for the team with the best two scores added together.   All competitors must present a handicap certificate from their home club on the tournament day. The maximum handicap for men is 28 and 36 for ladies.
