The Golf Foundation is all about grass roots junior golf development
Greenside magazine has become a sponsor of the Golf Foundation’s annual awards, joining The European Tour as supporters of the event that will be held at Wentworth in May.
The prestigious occasion coincides with the BMW PGA Championship and will be titled ‘The Golf Foundation Annual Awards Ceremony sponsored by Greenside magazine and supported by The European Tour’.
Greenside magazine will be the main sponsor for the event, which is one of the highlights of the year for those who support grass roots junior golf development.
There are awards for the volunteer and PGA professional of the year, The Sir Henry Cotton Award for great work over a sustained period and a special award for making progress in golf despite adversity.
Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “I’m delighted that Greenside has joined The European Tour in supporting the awards, which are close to the hearts of everyone connected with the Golf Foundation. Greenside magazine has a strong track record in supporting PGA pros and this commitment to our awards is highly appreciated.”
The Golf Foundation has sent nomination forms to a variety of golf, education and community organizations in recent months and details can still be downloaded from their website, www.golf-foundation.org.
