Padraig Harrington launches online charity auction
Padraig Harrington has launched an online charity auction through his official website, with all proceeds going to the worldwide fundraising 'Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation'
Padraig Harrington has launched an online golf auction devoted solely to raising money for charity. The two-time Open champion will post various signed memorabilia on his website, padraigharrington.com, with the proceeds going to The Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation. Harrington hopes to help others who "are less fortunate" through selling items such as a signed 2007 Open Championship 18th hole flag - the first item on the online golf auction.
The Irishman said: "With a wonderful family I feel extremely privileged to be in the position I am. How many of us get paid to do something we love so much.
"I am mindful, however, that there are others who are less fortunate. With this in mind I established the Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation, and as a way of raising funds I have decided to launch an online auction section to my website.
The Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation funds various worthy recipients throughout the world. Registering to the auction is free at padraigharrington.com
