Breakthrough Breast Cancer golf day set for July 16

South Cerney Golf Course will host the Breakthrough Breast Cancer day on July 16

South Cerney Golf Course, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, will host the inaugural Breakthrough Breast Cancer Annual Charity Golf Day on Friday, July 16.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the UK's leading charity devoted to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education.

The competition will be an 18-hole fourball-betterball stableford, along with a nearest the pin and longest drive competition.

Commenting on this important charity day, new captain of South Cerney Golf Club Jerry Homan-Green said: "I am delighted to be hosting the first Cotswold Breakthrough Charity Golf Day and invite all golfers to join us, raising awareness and funds for the pioneering fight against breast cancer."

The charirty golf day, hosted on the 6,119-yard course, is open to all golfers with a valid CONGU handicap at an entry fee of £60 per pair. Pairs can be either ladies or gentlemen but not mixed doubles. There is a maximum handicap allowance of 24 for Men and 32 for Ladies, but players with higher handicaps are also given the opportunity to play off 24 or 32.

The entry fee also covers a bacon role and coffee on arrival, as well as a buffet meal. Starting times will be from 9am to 1pm, with the prize-giving approximated for 6pm, after a raffle and auction.
