England's Atlantic Links

Five of the finest seaside courses in the country have teamed up to form England's Atlantic Links.

The quintet of Burnham and Berrow, Royal North Devon, Saunton, St Enodoc and Trevose have also gone into partnership with experienced operator London Golf Tours, who have put together a range of packages from £300 playing three courses and from £690 for all five courses with accommodation.

Burnham and Berrow is particularly noted for its distinct sand hills that form such stubborn, natural obstacles and recently hosted the 2006 English Amateur Championship.

Royal North Devon, or Westward Ho! as it is also known, is England's oldest links and the course has hardly changed over nearly 150 years while Saunton, set in the remote shadows of the giant sand dunes of Braunton Burrows, has two championship courses, East and West.
England's most successful golfer Nick Faldo said: "I've no doubt if the East Course were located on the coast of Lancashire or Kent it would have hosted an Open Championship."

St Enodoc has a fantastic setting among the dunes overlooking the River Camel estuary and with views over the Atlantic. The Church course, so called because of the Norman Church that was uncovered in the middle of the course, is renowned for its towering Himalaya bunker on the sixth.

Across the Camel River from St Enodoc and over the majestic Trevose Head that juts into the Atlantic, Trevose offers a brilliant links that will stage the Brabazon Trophy in 2008.

There is a new website, www.atlantic-links.co.uk <http://www.atlantic-links.co.uk> where details of the courses, accommodation and local attractions can be found and packages can be booked.
