Woods the daddy

Woods the daddy

Tiger Woods is to be a father again after announcing on Tuesday that his wife Elin is expecting in late winter.

Currently sidelined through injury, Woods has been forced to watch on as his rivals have shared the dollars around – most recently Fiji’s Vijay Singh taking advantage of the world No.1’s absence with back-to-back victories.

But Woods, winner of the US Open in June before going under the knife because of persistent knee problems, has revealed his delight at the prospect of having his second child - his daughter Sam was born shortly after the US Open in 2007.

Woods said: “Elin is feeling great and we are both thrilled. While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow.”

US Ryder Cup Captain, Paul Azinger, recently admitted how frustrated he was to not have the 14-time Major-winner at his disposal for the upcoming event.

Yet Woods, now 32, is unlikely to rush a comeback, especially with a second child on the way which means that his fans may have to wait a fair while yet to see their star back in action.
