Callaway FT-iQ
Callaway Golf have recently announced the introduction of FT-iQTM and FT-iQ Tour, with a striking design inspired by the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter and next generation supercars.
The FT-iQ's smart technology not only generates longer distances via a new Hyperbolic FaceTM and faster aerodynamic shape, it is 35% straighter than the FT-i, as a result of its stretched, lightweight carbon composite body, stealth-like head and extreme external weighting.
"The FT-iQ is a smart driver because a ball struck from virtually anywhere on the face will behave even more as if it has been struck from the centre," says Callaway Golf's Vice President of Innovation and Advanced Design, Dr Alan Hocknell. "Our robot tests show that the FT-iQ is not only the longest driver we have ever made, it is the most accurate, generating ball flights that are 35% straighter than the original FT-i, on off-centre hits."
The FT-iQ employs similar materials as next generation military aircraft and the latest, lightweight supercars. Carbon composite, titanium, aerospace grade aluminium, plus a dense metal alloy, are combined for their light weight, strength and durability, enabling Callaway Golf's designers to precisely position beneficial weight in FT-iQ's eye-catching external weight unit (accounting for 18% of the club's total weight).
The futuristic, stealthy head shape, benefits from a stretched face, heel to toe, providing a larger effective hitting area, and a longer, tapered body, enabling extreme rear weighting, and also inspiring confidence at address.

"The technologies and materials used are highly advanced and mirror those used at the highest levels of the aerospace and automotive industries. Just brought an FT-IQ today, having tested other clubs including the new Ping and Wilson, I was massively impressed with the results during the shop testing, the computer stated that I was averaging 260 yards and all tests were consistantly straighter than any other driver I tried :) I just hope it performs on the course the same way.

Tried the FTiQ on simulator in golf shop, performance was spectacular compared to other drivers tested in past 12 months. Carry was approx. 10% more and overall distance coupled with accuracy consistancy was better than anything I've previously tried. I bought one and have since played two rounds with it, albeit in severe wintry conditions, and have to say haven't hit anything wayward and played both rounds below my handicap (8), therefore delighted with my purchase and would highly recommend. One thing I would warn is that the face looks shut at address and takes some getting used to.

I've been playing with an FT-i for a year or so. But, I didn't like the look at address. I love the square look. It gives me confidence. But, like most drivers, the face is slightly closed. So, I was looking for a Tour version of a new club.
Last weekend, my club had all of the manufacturers visit so we could try their equipment. I liked the Taylormade Burner TP, the Titleist D Comp and the Callaway FT-IQ Tour.
I bought the FT-IQ because I loved the look at address, the shaft is marvelous and the results are unmistakably straight. And, to my delight, I was able to do some moderate shot shaping. My dad was with me and he said that I was hitting the ball 30 yards/meters farther than the other clubs. I normally hit 275-285, so that is a nice improvement.
I'm a 7.4 handicap looking to drop some strokes with some more fairways per round.
I also picked up a Squareway 5 Wood. I hit that thing like it's a remote control. LOVE that club.
