Padraig Harrington: Wilson Staff line-up
Padraig Harrington signs new Wilson Staff contract
Golf Monthly caught up with Wilson Staff player Padraig Harrington earlier this and asked: ‘what’s in the bag?’ Below are the details of the clubs the Irishman carries each week on Tour.
DRIVER
I’m using the driver I had at Carnoustie, the Wilson Staff Dd6+. But testing the new Wilson one, I liked it with the new Aldila Voodoo shaft, so I had that shaft put into the Dd6+. I like to hit the ball on a straight flight, without too much spin.
WOODS/UTILITY
I hit my 12˚ TaylorMade Burner TP 3-wood 245 yards off the fairway and 260 yards from the tee. I hit my Wilson Staff FYbrid 5-wood with a Grafalloy ProLite shaft, about 245 yards and my 19° FYbrid, which replaces my 2- and 3-irons, 225 yards.
IRONS
My irons are Wilson Pi7s, with Rifle 6.5 shafts. They have a classic look, but they do have the cavity back to help with the strike. I like irons that look good, but I always endeavour to use the most technology I can.
WEDGES
I carry a 50° PW, a SW at 55°, and a lob wedge at 60°. They are all Wilson Tw7s. For the Masters, I replaced my 9-iron with a 64° wedge. I didn’t miss the 9-iron but I gave the wedge away as I found it gave me too many options.
PUTTER
I use an Odyssey 2-Ball Blade putter. I had a more classically shaped putter for years, but I tried this one, and liked it. I believe that if you’re putting well, you shouldn’t change anything. Since I was 16, I’ve only used five putters.

Plainsman
I have a comment for Paddy and that is concerning his putter.I use the exact same putter and found it to be a very serviceable idea to take a T square and draw a line directly through the white balls making that a line of direction to follow .It is very easy to sway off the other way when you dont have a guide to swing up to. Try and see you will like it.
