Padraig Harrington has played an integral role in the design of Wilson clubs ever since he joined the company in 1998. But having won three of the last six major championships and with his contract due to end, speculation had emerged as to where the Irishman’s future lay.

Harrington, the reigning Open and US PGA champion has signed what is believed to be a rolling three year contract, he will continue carry Wilson Staff branding on his cap.

“I love being part of a tradition that includes the likes of Snead and Sarazen,” he said. “And there’s no doubt in my mind that Wilson Staff clubs have given me the edge over my rivals for the top titles in the game and I’m sure that they have been a major factor in my success to date.”

Padriag Harrington will continue his ambassadorial role as Wilson Staff launch their new equipment range. New Wilson Staff Di9 irons, new Smooth driver and Tw9 wedges will all be key products for the brand in 2009.

How refreshing to see a top sportsman, who doesn't just chase the money.I wonder how many other golfers would have stuck with there clubs, and who would have chased the dollars?
More majors on the way,?
