Ernie Els shares the clubhouse lead at the Singapore Open

Ernie Els and Simon Dyson currently share the clubhouse lead at the Barclays Singapore Open after another rain-struck day on the Serapong Course.

South African Els resumed on three-under but picked up two more shots to card a 66 and overhaul overnight leader Lam Chih Bing.

After a second round 70 Els reflected on some good fortune that saw him beat the rain before a three-hour suspension.

“We were very lucky to be on the good side of the draw,” said the three-time Major winner.

“Overall, I’m pretty satisfied. I hit the ball pretty nice and I wished I made more putts but I feel quite comfortable and I’m looking forward to the weekend now.”

Dyson was equally impressive shooting a bogey-free 67, but some big names are queuing up behind to give an exciting look to the leaderboard.

Ulsterman Rory McIlroy is just two adrift, although there was disappointment for HSBC Champions runner-up Oliver Wilson who carded a 73 to sit eight back.

The Barclays Singapore Open is the 5th richest national Open in the world, which has attracted five of the world’s top 20 players.
