Sergio Garcia and the Miss World Finalists were amongst a select group of people chosen to attend a special event promoting the Legend Golf and Safari Resort in Limpopo, South Africa. The Spanish star and the ladies were given the chance to sample all the resort has to offer as well as play one of the resort's signature holes - the Extreme 19th.

The Extreme 19th - the world’s longest and most breathtaking Par 3 is only accessible by helicopter. Golfers are faced with a 394-yard tee shot from Hanglip Mountain that drops 470 yards to a green contoured like Africa.

Five women were selected to try out the Par 3, but none were able to hit the green – although only two people have ever found the putting surface on the 19th.

Garcia also took a helicopter up to the Extreme 19th and hit a driver to the Par 3. He said: "This is truly unique. I have never seen a hole like this and it’s a great challenge. I'm so glad I made par with one of my balls and my competition ball just missed the green and I managed to make bogey. What a hole...what a view...what a resort."

Garcia was one of 18 world-class golfers - who also include Trevor Immelman, Padraig Harrington, Bernard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Justin Rose, Vijay Singh, K J Choi and Retief Goosen  - who have each designed one of the course's signature holes. The Spanish star designed the Par 4, 16th hole.

“It’s a great honour to be chosen as one of the 18 signature designers. I can’t believe how good this project is and I’m sure golfers from across the world will enjoy this unique challenge.”

The18-signature golf course is due to open for play in March 2009 but is already one of the most talked about courses in Africa. The Extreme 19th is open to play now.
