Butch Harmon labels Williams' comments "deplorable"

Butch Harmon has joined the slanging match between Tiger Woods’ caddie Steve Williams and Phil Mickelson, by labelling the bag carrier’s comments as "deplorable".
New Zealander Williams has made a name for himself as Woods’ caddie, but annoyed his boss at the weekend when he called Mickelson a “p****”.
Woods was put in an awkward position and said on Monday: "I was disappointed to read the comments about Phil, a player I respect. The matter has been discussed and dealt with."

Harmon, a world-renown coach who still works with Mickelson, after assisting Woods for ten years said: "I can't believe he said what he said. I think it's deplorable that he would say something like that.”
The 65-year old stopped short of questioning his former pupil's history in the bitter row adding: "Golf is a game of honour and integrity and that was a very uncalled-for remark and I don't think it's a reflection of how Tiger thinks of Phil Mickelson.
"Having worked with Tiger for 10 years, I can tell you he wouldn't have been very happy with that."
The latest verbals come off the back of Padraig Harrington’s revelation that he and Sergio Garcia were opposites, meaning the world’s top-4 go into 2009 with a little extra needle.
