Have GM been able to test this club yet or know what price it might be introduced at?
The big man in red is bringing me a Spine Driver for christmas, but is it worth waiting for the smooth?

Richard,
I had the chance to play a couple of rounds with the Smooth in Ireland a few weeks ago and it is a really nice driver - looks good, feels good and seemed to go a similar distance to the Callaway Hyper X I've been using most of the year. The Smooth name is down to the really curved styling around the rear of the clubhead. That said, I liked the Spine last year too when I tested it despite the unusual head shape. The sound did attract a few comments, but for me it wasn't really an issue - certainly quieter than Cobras and the earliest square Nike.
I don't suppose this is of much help really especially as I believe at recommended retail there's not much in it - the Smooth is supposed to be £229 which is pretty similar to the Spine's original price. So the things that might edge it the Smooth's way could be shape and sound which are certainly more conventional, while the Spine could edge it on price if it has come down significantly ahead of the Smooth's launch?
Either way, have a good Christmas,
Jezz
