This week’s equipment guide focuses on drivers. The Golf Monthly May equipment supplement is a must for those of you looking to make any last minute adjustments to your golf bag and we’ve selected a few drivers that are well worth considering.

However, the purpose this week is to just give you a sample of drivers that can be purchased for under £250, bearing in mind that you may have already gone over budget as we approach the new season. There are lots of quality brands out there and we have selected just six that are well worth trying:

1. Ben Sayers Benny £99

The sleek, bullet-shaped head delivers high MOI for extra stability. Rear weight promotes the perfect launch. Suited to golfers who prefer a classically-shaped driver and want a solid driver at a great price.

2. Benross Innovator X £129

The stretched head design creates a high degree of resistance to twisting on off-centre hits. Suited to golfers who want a great-value moveable weight driver and prefer triangular-shaped heads.

3. MD Golf Seve Icon High MOI Ti £149

Head features added weight in the perimeter to maximise stability and produce straighter tee shots. Suited to golfers who want to be on the fairway at all costs and want a large head to look down on.

Good to see you looking at more affordable drivers, as not everyone can afford to run out and buy one of the latest hi-tec all singing all dancing drivers...

However, it would also be good to get a comparison on ball flights, spin rates etc on each of these drivers and also a comparison with a few different players of differing abilities, just like you used to do in the mag.
