Golf Monthly's week that was

TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider Balero

The new TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider Balero

This week saw some exciting new equipment arrive in the office making it difficult to move without coming face to face with a golf bag, trolley or putter. Indeed, Neil Tappin is currently surrounded in the kit he’ll be donning at next week’s BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am where he’ll be teeing up alongside Rory McIlroy.

We’ll keep you posted on all the latest gear as it gets tested. Already in we have the new TaylorMade R9 460 driver, TaylorMade Rossa Mozza Spider Balero putter and the new Never Compromise XRAY putter range. We also reviewed some premium fairway woods on the market including the Titleist 909 F2.

It’s been a busy week in terms of news, notably Christy O'Connor Snr being inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame. Don’t forget to keep an eye on all the breaking industry, golf and amateur news, as well as new posts on our noticeboard.

On Tour and the 3 Irish Open has attracted a strong field including Padraig Harrington, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood, as well as a resurgent John Daly. After Paul Krishnamurty tipped Henrik Stenson for The Players Championship at Sawgrass, the tipster was back to give his betting guide for events in Ireland as well as the PGA Tour’s Texas Open.

There are some great competitions still running so get in before they close. You can still win a new PowaKaddy Freeway II Lithium and Deluxe II bag, and a luxury hospitality break to the 2009 Celtic Manor Wales Open.

In the Golf Monthly Forum the topic of dress code has reared its head. It only takes one opinion to spark a good old debate. Have your say and join in the banter.

Have a good weekend.
