Wilson's new FG Tour irons
Wilson Staff is set to launch a striking new iron model called Wilson Staff FG Tour.

The new Wilson Staff FG Tour irons were brought to public attention by Ricky Barnes as he used them en route to finishing tied second at the US Open. Having spent 18 months in development, the FG Tour irons promise a blend of forgiveness with the high levels of feel that you would expect from a forged club. They offer a clear distinction to the thinner, more blade-like Fg59 model that is currently in the Wilson Staff range.
A relatively thin topline is combined with a healthy cavity in the back in the FG Tour, creating an iron that looks traditional at address but still offers a consistency of strike from the fairway. This formula should attract interest from Tour players as well as low and mid handicap amateurs.
Wilson is confident that their star player, Padraig Harrignton will be using the new FG Tour irons as he defends his Open Championship title at Turnberry in July.
Wilson Staff’s FG Tour irons will be reviewed in full in the September issue of Golf Monthly.
