Eurosport UK to televise US PGA Tour golf
Eurosport UK has bought the rights to show the remainder of the US PGA Tour's 2009 season
Eurosport has secured the PGA TOUR television rights in the UK for the remainder of the 2009 season starting this week with live coverage from the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut.
PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem said “We are pleased to announce this agreement with Eurosport, which ensures that PGA TOUR coverage will continue to be made available, live, every week to golf fans throughout the United Kingdom,” Events will now be accessible on British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2, through Sky and Virgin Media.
Eurosport UK’s Director of Broadcast, Dave Kerr Said: “The US PGA Tour is a great sports series and we are delighted that we can bring live coverage to a wider audience of golf fans than ever before. With Moto GP, Superbikes and now the arrival of USPGA Golf, our channels are becoming more and more attractive and exciting to UK viewers and we look forward to welcoming golf fans.”
Eurosport’s participation is good news for golf fans as the Fed Ex Cup reaches an important phase with many of the Tour’s biggest events still to be played.
