Titleist MB & CB irons

Titleist has introduced its new MB (muscle back) and CB (cavity back) forged irons which feature improved feel and looks.

The MB is a classic muscle back forged iron, while the new Titleist CB iron is a full set of cavity-back forgings. Both models deliver the looks, feel and performance highly-skilled players demand.

The MB and CB irons are available in both right and left hand beginning November 1, 2009, with a suggested retail price of £816.

Both sets have already been put into play in recent weeks by several players on tour including Adam Scott and Davis Love III.

New MB Forged irons

The high performance muscle back forged irons offer improved feel, classic looks and superior shot control for the highly skilled golfer.

A uniform muscle shape behind the impact area provides solid feel and a softer topline and rounder profile provide a classic but improved contemporary look.

Flight-wise the traditional blade irons feature Tour-standard lofts for player preferred shot and trajectory control with workability. The constant blade length with minimal progressive offset ensures a preferred set up appearance and helps superior shot making.

A narrow, cambered sole with optimized bounce angles assists with crisp contact. A shorter hosel in long irons helps bias weight low for improved launch and a longer hosel in mid and short irons helps manage flight.

New CB Forged irons

An optimised cavity shape and inner cavity muscle behind the impact area provides solid feel. The full cavity back set has increased inertia and more forgiveness versus the MB set, and a lower CG in the long irons provide a slightly higher flight versus the MBs.

A softer topline and rounder profile provide a classic but improved contemporary look. The blunted leading edge and cambered sole help with a smooth turf entry and release.

A shorter hosel in long irons helps bias weight low for improved launch and a longer hosel in mid and short irons helps manage flight.
