TaylorMade R9 & R9 TP irons

TaylorMade has launched its new R9 irons, following the success of the R9 driver, fairway wood and hybrid earlier this year.

Golf Monthly was given an exclusive first look at the R9 driver last November when deputy editor Neil Tappin traveled to Spain to get Sergio Garcia's take on the revolutionary new club as the Spaniard put the TaylorMade R9 driver through its paces.

The new Velocity Control Chamber technology is positioned behind the clubface and helps the golfer to launch the ball higher and more powerfully.

The shorter TaylorMade R9 irons in the set feature a deep, undercut cavity and more weight has been distributed to the heel and toe to offer more forgiveness for stikes not finding the centre of the clubface.

More accomplished players and those with low handicaps will be interested to know that a Taylormade TP version is available.
