European Tour Golfer of the Month Lee Westwood
Lee Westwood has been named European Tour Golfer of the Month for November following his victory at the Dubai World Championship which saw him top the money list in the inaugural Race to Dubai.
The Englishman excelled on the final day on the Earth Course, posting a course-record 64 to blow away his nearest challengers, including his closest rival on the money list, Rory McIlroy.
Westwood will receive a jeroboam of Moët & Chandon champagne along with an engraved alms dish in recognition of his achievement.
The award caps a busy few months for the 36-year-old. Since coming agonisingly close to winning the Open Championship at Turnberry, Westwood won the Golfer of the Month for August and captured the Portugal Masters in October.
Such form has seen Westwood rise to fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking and keen to see his level of play continue into 2010, when he'll be searching for that elusive first Major, Westwood has also signed a new deal with PING.
The Worksop man is currently in Los Angeles preparing for the Chevron World Challenge, a tournament normally hosted by Tiger Woods. Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell has stepped up to take the world number one's place.
