PING's new K15 irons, which include PING K15 hybrids in various options
PING has launched a new set of irons and hybrids. The PING K15 hybrids are part of the K15 iron/hybrid set. It's a set that is designed with hybrid long/mid irons blended with traditional mid/short irons.
Many golfers hit their hybrids further than their long irons which will add to the appeal of this new set of clubs. On top of this, the distance gap between each club is more optimised and distinct so each club in the iron set is utilised properly, making for a more efficient set.
Hybrids in the K15 set span from 3-6, but 5 and 6 irons will also be available, giving golfers the flexibility to optimise their set by choosing the clubs that they prefer to play with.

The PING K15 hybrids are designed to get the ball into the air easier with less spin for greater distance. In addition, the K15s also feature an extremely high moment of inertia (MOI) due to the large internal toe weight pad for superior forgiveness so even mis-hits travel further.

The PING K15s also feature 2010 R&A conforming grooves. The increased head size provide even more forgiveness and by creating a higher MOI, golfers can expect more consistent distance from their ball-striking across the entire face.
You'll be able to buy the new K15 irons and hybrids when the clubs hit the shops on August 17, 2010.

I have just read your article about the latest Ping K15 irons. With my custom fit G15s being less than 12 months old I think it is totally unacceptable to bring out a completely new set such as the K15 so soon after the launch of the G15 & i15 sets.
Whilst this might be commercially acceptable to Ping, it is morally unacceptable to me the customer who purchased my G15s in the knowledge that I was playing the latest and most up to date clubs from Ping, I certainly wouldn't have expected to have my bubble burst by Ping in under 12 months.
If this is the way Ping treats it's loyal customers and this practice is their latest marketing strategy then I am afraid I will not be purchasing any other Ping clubs in the future.

Hi Mike
The K15 irons are a replacement for the Rapture V2 range NOT the G15 range. PING run their product lines for 2 years so a replacement for G15 won't be introduced until Autumn 2011. In other words your irons are the latest in the G range and haven't been superseded by the K range that is aimed at the super game improvement market.
Alongside the K series the 2010 launches from PING features the S56 irons (a replacement for the S57s) and the Tour-S wedges (a replacement for the Tour W wedges)
The only totally new products being launched this autumn are the Anser irons and Scottsdale putter ranges
In terms of where it all fits in here a very top line overview
K series - super game improvement, all about forgiveness
G series - game improvers, forgiveness with a small degree of workability
I series - want to work the ball but also want a decent level of forgiveness
Anser - forged feel, similar level of forgiveness to I series, premium product with higher price point
S56 - players 'blade' style club where workability is the top priority
Hope that helps clarify your queries

So what is the difference between the super game improvement clubs, and game improvers, with a little workability? I have the old G5s and was looking to move to the G15s when the K15s showed up???

Mike you are an idiot? Welcome to manufacturing. They all bring out new equipment every year. Did you think that PING would keep the same equipment year after year because you bought it. Wake up.
