Pilsner Urquell ran a recent competition that had one of the most amazing prizes that Golf Monthly have ever had to offer.

All based around the Open in St Andrews in mid July the prize included a night of entertainment and fine dining in private rooms at the world-famous five-star Gleneagles Hotel and an overnight stay, helicopter transfer from Gleneagles to St Andrews on the Friday of the Open with VIP hospitality, exclusive access to Pilsner Urquell's VIP chalet and then a transfer to the Hilton Edinburgh for a final night's stay.

This money cannot buy prize was very popular and it went to Stephen and Deborah Quayle from Warrington. Stephen spoke to Golf Monthly about the whole experience.

"I often enter the competitions on Golf Monthly and when I saw this competition come up I made sure I entered."

"I was away with family playing golf in Wales and we had been talking about the competition and the amazing prize, but I never thought I had a chance of winning. Then I got back and got a phone call to  say that I had won, I couldn't believe it, I had to sit down."

"Gleneagles was a brilliant place and we just didn't
know what was coming next. It was a really high-quality event,
everything from the room to the meal to the brilliant firework display
they put on - it was just out of this world."

"The main part of the prize that had tempted me into entering was the helicopter ride to St Andrews. When we set off my wife and I just couldn't stop giggling like teenagers, it was simply fantastic."

"It was my first time to St Andrews and I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. It was surreal to be at a place in person that I had seen so many times on the television. It was great to see Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as well as being lucky enough to see the winner Louis Oosthuizen. I am determined to go and play there now."

"Pilsner Urquell treated us just so well, I have now booked a trip to Prague to go and see their brewery and have also found a pub near by that sells Urquell which is now my drink of choice. They certainly have a convert."
