PGA Tour 2013 schedule announced

The PGA Tour has revealed the complete schedule for the 2013 PGA Tour FedEx Cup season, made up of a total of 40 events

The PGA Tour has announced its 2013 FedEx Cup season schedule, which is comprised of 36 regular season tournaments and four play-off events.

The season will start in the first week of 2013 with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and finish in the penultimate week of September with the Tour Championship.

The Fall Series, a run of four events usually staged after the conclusion of the FedEx Cup, will no longer end the season. Instead, those tournaments will be moved to the start of the 2013/2014 season.

"We are extremely pleased with the continued stability and strength of the PGA Tour schedule," said PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem.

"While the upcoming season is unique in that our traditional fall tournaments are shifting to the start of the 2013/2014 season, we are very excited about the upcoming change that will establish a definitive end to the PGA Tour season at the Tour Championship by Coca-Cola."

To compensate for the abolishment of the season-ending Fall Series, many regular season tournaments will increase the size of their fields.

Finchem also announced earlier this season that Q-school would be replaced by a three-tournament mini-series comprised of PGA and Web.com Tour players.

The top 25 on the Web.com Tour Money List will earn their PGA Tour cards, leaving those ranked 26-100 on the Web.Com Tour and 126-200 on the PGA Tour to battle it out for an additional 25 cards, awarded based on money earned over the three weeks.
