A guide to the second hole of the Rio Olympic Golf Course ahead of the 2016 Olympics in August

Rio Olympic Golf Course Hole by Hole: Hole 2

Hole 2 - Par 4 - 487 yards

The 487-yard second is a long par-4 that doglegs to the left, with two bunkers on the left hand side of the fairway right in the landing zone. The longer hitters may be able to take it over them.

However it's the approach shot to the green that will test the competitors.

There's a bunker short left that shouldn’t really come into play unless the wind is against or if a player has decided to lay up from the corner of the dogleg and come in over the first of the two reservoirs on the course.

The reservoir runs down the left and round the back of the green and the toughest pin placement will be front left tempting the players to go for a birdie-birdie start which could see them handing back more than one shot.

Par will be a good score on this long par-4.
