A guide to the eleventh hole at Oakmont Country Club ahead of the 2016 US Open

US Open 2016 Oakmont Country Club: Hole 11

Hole 11 – Par 4 – 379 yards

The 11th is only 90 yards longer than the par-3 eighth so the long hitters will choose to keep the driver in the bag here.

The fairway rises up to a plateau which a fairway wood will reach and from there it’s not much more than a sand wedge into the green.

There are three fairway bunkers left but they shouldn’t come into play.

The green is guarded by three bunkers but just like those off the fairway, they shouldn’t be an issue.

The putting surface is reasonably flat, gently sloping from back to front.

Definitely a birdie chance.
