US Open 2016 Oakmont Country Club: Hole 15

The 15th at Oakmont is not for the faint-hearted

A guide to the fifteenth hole at Oakmont Country Club ahead of the 2016 US Open

US Open 2016 Oakmont Country Club: Hole 15

Hole 15 - Par 4 - 499 yards

The 15th at Oakmont could be where this year's US Open is decided.

A birdie could be decisive for one of the leaders whilst a double-bogey can be made within an instant.

Eventual winner Angel Cabrera hits his tee shot on the 15th during the final round of the US Open at Oakmont in 2007.

The drive has to be down the fairway, otherwise it will catch the Church Pews bunker left or the two bunkers and ditch down the right.

Down the stretch if you have any doubt about your driving - you will be found out here.

The second shot, due to the length of the hole, will be a long iron for most into a big, undulating green.

Bunkers right and left here are ready to catch any strayed approach so fairway, middle of the green and two putts are what all the players will be desperate for here.
