Ecco has unveiled two new golf shoe models in the shape of the BIOM Hybrid 2 and BIOM G2

Ecco has unveiled two new golf shoe models in the shape of the BIOM Hybrid 2 and BIOM G2.

The BIOM Hybrid 2 is the second generation of Ecco's best-selling shoe and once again features Natural Motion technology and an E-DTS outsole.

It is 15% lighter than the original model - a product of an extra-thin midsole and a dual-density TPU outsole.

The shoe is designed to offer more support in key areas while delivering increased softness in others.

"We've taken what many have declared the world's most comfortable golf shoe and made it even better," said Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at Ecco.

"That we can do this is a testament to our skill as a shoemaker and the drive that pushes us to pioneer new innovations, season after season."

The Ecco BIOM Hybrid 2 includes a soft, breathable upper treated with Hydromax and an anti-stain formula to provide improved levels of protection.

Anatomical last shape - developed by scanning the feet of 2,500 athletes to reveal key ares of support - and TPU-forged moulded traction bars provide both support and grip.

What's more, a new technical insole system prevents unwanted foot movement during the swing.

The new Ecco BIOM Hybrid 2 shoes comes with an RRP of £170.

Ecco has also launched the BIOM G2 cleated golf shoe - another model showcasing Natural Motion technology.

The shoe weighs-in at 20% lighter than previous Ecco models and come in either waterproof Gore-Tex or weather-resistant Hydromax materials.

New technological innovations include a carbon-fibre stability bar running from the heel to mid-foot, as well as an integrated forefoot stability bar.

The BIOM G2's upper is constructed from premium yak leathers with highly durable, water-resistant TPU reinforcement dots.

As per the BIOM Hybrid 2, the new model features anatomical last shape, a technical insole system and tour-proven traction.

The same direct-injection process is also employed in the construction of the BIOM G2, forging a one-piece construction without glue or stitching.

The Hydromax version will retail at £210, while the Gore-Tex model will set you back £225.

The likes of Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn and Marcel Siem all wear Ecco golf shoes on tour.

Availability for the Ecco BIOM Hybrid 2 and BIOM G2 will be confirmed in due course.
