2014 Hoylake Open Champion Rory McIlroy talks through his preparation for the 2014 Open Championship

In the build up to this year’s Open Championship at Hoylake, Rory McIlroy made a pilgrimage to East Lothian to officially open the new Nike Performance Fitting centre at Archerfield Golf Club.

A state of the art custom fitting facility, it will give golfers of all levels the chance to get the same in-depth club fitting experience as the likes of McIlory and indeed fellow Nike staff player, Tiger Woods.

In this video, Rory McIlory talks us through the clubs in his Nike golf bag. From his Nike Covert 2.0 driver to the Nike VR wedges he carries week-in, week-out, the world number eight offers a rare, candid insight into the club set-up at the heart of his game.

McIlory provides a fascinating view on how the modern-day professional works with his sponsor to find the right 14 clubs for his game and speaks openly about what he does and doesn’t like from his equipment.
