Greetham Valley GC

The club is set amongst rolling hills and valleys with plenty of water features to keep you on your toes

For those who weren't top of the class in geography Rutland is England's smallest county and what?s more it's home to Greetham Valley GC.

The club is set amongst rolling hills and valleys with plenty of water features to keep you on your toes. The club features two very different courses the Lakes which, at 6736 yards represents a stiff challenge and the Valley which although markedly shorter at 5595 has some tricky (and very picturesque) par 3's. The Lakes course has some great holes - especially the 10th and 18th played Belfry-style over water to a green in front of the clubhouse.

However the 17th on the Lakes is perhaps the pick of the bunch. It's a magnificent par 4 where you have to find the fairway from an elevated tee flanked by a wood on one side and a stream the other and then play your second towards the green sat below the clubhouse. A classic hole on a lovely course.

Best Hole: 17th on the Lakes is as picturesque as it is tough ? the mark of a great hole.
