Killarney Golf & Fishing Club - Killeen course
The Killeen course is a magnificent parkland layout where views of mountain peaks complement testing holes in a lakeland setting. water comes into play on nearly every hole on the Killeen, punishing the errant shot then later lapping at your feet to soothe a fraying temper.
Two par 3s are typical of the ever-present aquatic jeopardy. The green at the 196 yard 3rd cuts into the lakeside, and is made more dramatic by the mountain peaks glipmsed across the water. The 6th, at 201 yards is fronted by a horse-shoe shaped stream and a false front at the green's apron can cause your ball to roll back into the water.
At 449 yards, the 18th is a stern finish and you must drive between bunkers and a stream that widens into a pond at the greenside, leaving a testing long-iron shot. As with all of Killeen's holes, you must strike it pure to stay dry.
Best Hole: The view from the 196 yard 3rd is simply breath-taking - you won't forget this one in a hurry.
