Nestling among 356 acres of picturesque Midland’s countryside is The Warwickshire. The place is a popular choice with travelling golfers and societies, and with the variety of golf on offer it’s not hard to see why.
There are four 9-hole loops on offer here – all with very different characteristics – giving a mind-boggling range of possibilities for making up your round.
The North loop winds its way through mature woodland and features a 637-yard (yes, you read that right) par 5. The South makes a good stab of living up to its “inland links” tag with dune-style mounding lining the fairways. The East course is a dead ringer for a PGA Tour layout with motorway-width fairways, water features and huge bunkers. Last but not least is the West – a parkland-style nine with oceans of aqua to contend with.
And, as if that lot wasn’t enough, there’s some superb practice facilities, a massive clubhouse serving good quality fodder and a pro shop packed full of kit. What more could you want?
Best Hole: 8th North Course 165 yards par 3. A sensational short hole that drops dramatically from the tee to a green that’s surrounded by bunkers and steep run-offs. Good luck.
