In 1897 an article in the Irish Times, dismissed Ballybunion with some contempt as "a rabbit warren below the village, where a golfer requires limitless patience and an inexhaustible supply of golf balls." Sitting at number 9 in our Top 100, you can be sure this is so very far from the truth now.
