No 65 - Druids Glen
Druids Glen has many a contender for a signature hole. Besides these, the views are stunning and there are few better places to play when the course is in full bloom
65 DRUIDS GLEN
Architect: Ruddy, Craddock 2006 position: 44 Stats: 6,560 yds; par 71; SSS 73 GF: €100-€200 T: 00353 1 287 3600 W: druidsglen.ie It’s not often that a course has several signature holes but Druids Glen is an exception to the rule, with a number of strong contenders, especially the par 3s.
Some par 4s require a short or mid-iron to reach the green, but others need a fairway wood.
The 13th is 491 yards from the tips, 461 from the normal white tees, and a great hole – clearly the best par 4 on the course.
There is a great emphasis on the “garden” aspect of the Glen, and it is stunningly presented and possibly as close as any of us will get to playing Augusta in Europe… or indeed, playing Augusta at all. RS
+ Immaculate and scenic; a real visual experience when in full bloom - Hotel rather than club atmosphere; expensive in high season Enter your review of Druids Glen below
