Evnroll ER10 Outback
Guerin Rife had been making putters for a long time before he launched his 100 per cent milled Evnroll range in 2016, with the new putters promising the “sweetest face in golf” on account of a unique mill pattern engineered to deliver uniform performance across the entire hitting area of the putter face for unprecedented levels of accuracy and zero dispersion.
You may think mis-striking a putt pales into significance compared to mis-striking an iron, and in many ways, that’s true. But in another sense, it’s not, because the target at this end of the hole is so much smaller that even a minor mis-hit can make a difference to how well and how far the ball rolls, and if a putt doesn’t go in it is, of course, another stroke on the scorecard.
The idea behind the milling on an Evnroll putter face is to enhance performance on heel and toe mishits such that they stay on line and roll virtually the same distance as putts that find the centre of the blade by imparting progressively more energy transfer on off-centre strikes.
We’ve tested many of these award-winning models since 2016 and like them so much that certain members of our testing team have had them in their bags for quite a while.
The most stable yet
The Evnroll range comprises everything from classic blades to mallets of all shapes and sizes, with this new face-balanced ER10 Outback model offering maximum stability and forgiveness via an ultra-high MOI.
The Outback takes its name from the heavier boomerang-shaped stainless steel rear wing, with the rest of the body crafted from lightweight 6061 aluminium. Cleverly, the rear boomerang’s weight varies according to putter length for a consistent balance and feel.
It worked extremely well for us in testing, so if big mallets are your thing, make sure you give the Outback a try.
