Skechers Go Golf Pro 4 Shoe

Editor’s Choice 2019

The Skechers collection has grown significantly from one style in the early nineties, to more than 3,000 for every gender, age and activity. Whilst the brand is still establishing itself in the UK golf market, it has won over a lot of golfers in the US since releasing its first golf shoes in 2014. So much so that after a number of years creating running and lifestyle shoes, Skechers, with its growing line-up of golf shoes, is now a major force across the Atlantic.

Creating comfort

Comfort-related technology has played a major part in the success of its running shoes, which has now been transferred to its golf offerings. The same team that works on its running shoes, also works on its golf range. So, some of what Skechers has learnt about lightweight and comfortable foam in running, it has transitioned into its performance golf shoes.

One of these is the model designed and worn by Matt Kuchar – the Skechers GO GOLF Pro V4. Offering a classic design with replaceable Softspike and complete Skechers H2GO Shield waterproof protection, there’s a lot of like about this model, especially if you’re a fan of the more modern/casual styles.

Style, substance and the looks

To look at pair, you’d be entitled to question whether comfort –  these are shoes designed for off course as well as on it – comes with a sacrifice. The answer is no. A dynamic-diamond traction plate outsole ensures maximum grip, while the heel lock feature aids a stable and secure fit.

As you’d expect from a brand with years of experience in the lifestyle business, this is a shoe very easy on the eye, too.  The smooth full grain leather upper offers a classic look, while the side stitching detail trim enhances its clean and sleek appearance.
