TaylorMade M6 Fairway
Justin Rose may have signed with Honma for the 2019 season but he still carries one TaylorMade model of club in the bag, the new M6 fairway. This is testament to how good the performance and design of this club is which is exactly why it finds itself in our 2019 Editors Choice List.

A TaylorMade First
We are used to seeing Twist Face technology on drivers but less so on fairways, until now. The M6, and its brother the M5, both come with the technology designed to reduce dispersion on off-centre hits by 15 yards. This is achieved by adding and taking away 1.5 degrees of loft in the toe and heel respectively. In terms of other tech, the club has a deep face and larger carbon crown which provides optimal distance with playability. Improved slot flexibility creates a larger COR area for more distance, especially on low-face strikes, while the new TPU insert is more flush with the surface for improved turf interaction – in short it encourages you to take on par-5s in two when previously you may have laid up.
The M6 fairway has a hot, driver-like feel off the face and offers a great deal of forgiveness to rescue a poor strike. We like the lighter feel and larger footprint compared with the M5; it seemed to make it easier to swing and get the ball airborne without climbing too high into the wind.During testing we realized it creates mid-to-low spin which helped maximiseourcarry distance and it has proven to be equally adept form the tee and fairway, a crucial characteristic of a fairway wood.
One of the best looking fairway woods around, we can honestly say that despite being arguably the most difficult club in the bag to get right, the M6 is everything you could possibly ask for from a fairway wood, and that is why it merits inclusion in our Editors Choice List.
