The Titleist Pro V1 ball is one of the products featured in our Editor's Choice product list.

Titleist Pro V1

Almost 20 years on from making its debut at the Invensys Classic in Las Vegas, the Titleist Pro V1 still sets the benchmark for premium ball design and technology. Trusted by countless professionals and amateurs alike, it remains the go-to ball for those seeking the ultimate blend of distance and feel. It’s been the most-used piece of golf equipment around the globe over the last two decades.

Editor’s Choice 2020

The current incarnation of the Pro V1 had reached new levels of performance and we’ve been hugely impressed with what this ball delivers. In testing we’ve seen it produce increased ball speed over previous models without any compromise on short-game performance, consistency or durability.

Available in white and high optic yellow, the casing layer on the 2020 Pro V1, underneath the cast urethane elastomer cover has been made 14% thicker but the cast urethane elastomer cover has been made 17% thinner to help deliver more ball speed while maintaining greenside control and a soft feel.

The new 2.0 ZG Process Cores are formulated for more distance and the ball has been optimised to fly with a more penetrating trajectory whilst keeping that super-soft feel.

Strong ball flight

The Pro V1 has been engineered to deliver an optimised ball flight and this could help players find distance from the tee and with their iron shots. We enjoy the slightly lower, more penetrating flight the new Pro V1 delivers – it’s noticeable that the ball doesn’t balloon into the wind. The ball speed is also worth noting – The new thinner cover clearly generates some extra zip.

Short game control

But what we like most about the Pro V1 is the feel around the greens. It generates good spin, but the softness gives you great confidence that you can maintain full control on shorter shots.
